I learned a lesson from an iris in the rain.
I had a moment with this iris today. I had a moment where I understood something I hadn’t understood before. She showed me there is a way to be rumpled and beautiful, to curl inward and still be a support to others, to create one’s own shelter and be open to the rain, be open to life. She told me it’s okay to let my heart break all the way, and even to let the fragments fall in public.
